PIX3LED # 1 Super Mario Bros.
The magic of our modern day. I was 6 when I first heard about the NES. Though I wasn’t very sure was it was or did, I was sure that I wanted one. I got my first chance to see Super Mario Bros. played when I visited a friend in the hospital. I can’t remember what he was in for, but I know that his mom bought him a NES as a means to make him feel better. So when I went to visit him in the hospital, he was as eager to brag about the new NES as I was to play it.
I was instantly hooked. From the time I collected the very first Super Mushroom to the present, I’ve been hooked on video games and Super Mario Bros. started the addiction. The NES in and of itself was so mysterious [for lack of a better word] and the holiday demand so great, that by the start of 1986 I wasn’t the only one hooked. So like most stories, mine started with Super Mario Bros. The characters are timeless, and the game play is genre forming. The story is completely ludicrous but the fun factor is undeniable.
The super mushroom was the first test object for this pix3led project and a bit simpler than the others. But I think it is still a decent homage to the game that started it all for me.

Thanks Coby.
I have - I think Baker linked me to it a while back. Not bad stuff. I would like to redo these with a bit more depth, but I think I will do another pack of 10 before I mess with the process so far.
I’m thinking 11-20 will include favorites such as Blades of Steel, Toobin, and Punch-Out… stay tuned.
